Our locally raised tomato plants are immensely popular and eagerly awaited each spring! Why do they outperform others? One reason is all the tender love and care they get. But the thing that gives them the edge is that they are grown right here, not in a nursery from warmer climes just to get the shock of their lives when they arrive in cold, old Ballarat! Our plants are fully acclimatised. And don't forget, all our tomatoes are open-pollinated; with these plants you can save the seed for future generations.

CHERRY TOMATOES

Tomato 'Blue Berries' - Very productive purple-red cherry tomatoes. Indeterminate truss variety growing to 200cm. Best for salads and canning.

Tomato 'Cosmic Purple' - ‘Plum’ sized rich, sweet, juicy purple-black fruit with a red blush.  Indeterminate variety requiring staking. 

Tomato 'Geranium Kiss'  - Trusses of small to medium pinkish-red, heart-shaped fruit with pointed tips. Early maturing, dwarfing variety excellent for pots and small gardens. Indeterminate variety. 

Tomato 'Mary's Cherry' - Dwarfing cherry tomato with rounded, dusky-pink fruit that has a complex, sweet flavour. Open pollinated modern heirloom from the ‘Dwarf Tomato Project’. Indeterminate, mid-season variety. 

Tomato 'Valentine' - Trusses of bright-red, mini heart-shaped cherry tomatoes with a super-sweet flavour. Open pollinated, modern heirloom.  Indeterminate variety. 

SALAD TOMATOES

Tomato 'Blue Chocolate' - Round small to medium deep mahogany and red fruit. Deep red, meaty flesh with a full flavour. Excellent for salads and sandwiches. Open pollinated modern heirloom variety from USA. Indeterminate.  

Tomato 'Cosmic Eclipse' - ‘Plum’ sized rich, sweet, juicy multicoloured fruit with incredible, galaxy-like patterning. Indeterminate variety requiring staking. 

Tomato 'Dark Galaxy' -Black and red fruit with gold, ‘nebula’ flecks. Medium sized, round fruit with a rich, sweet flavour. Indeterminate variety requiring staking.

Tomato 'One Hundred Percent' - Medium sized, bright red, salad tomato with round-shaped fruit. Juicy, flavourful flesh perfect for salads and sandwiches. Indeterminate variety. 

Tomato 'Red Fig' - Early 18th-century variety with very small, fig or pear-shaped fruit. Excellent for drying, sauce, canning, as well as salads. Small, compact vine, growing up to 100cm.

Tomato 'Rose de Berne' - Old Swiss variety from early 1900s with medium sized, round, rosy pink fruit. Very sweet tasting. Excellent for slicing and salads. Indeterminate. 

Tomato 'Walter' - Heirloom mid-season variety originating in USA in 1969. Medium sized, smooth, globe-shaped fruit with a mild, sweet flavour. Determinate, compact bush habit.

BEEFSTEAK TOMATOES

Tomato 'Alice's Dream' - Beefsteak variety with large, peach, orange and mahogany ‘two-tone’ striped fruit. Complex, sweet flavoured fruit. Prolific producer. Open pollinated, modern heirloom bred in Poland. Indeterminate, mid-season variety. 

Tomato 'Cherokee Purple' - A striking beefsteak-type tomato with large, ribbed dusty-rose fruit and dark purple to black accents.  Old Cherokee heirloom, pre 1890. Excellent full flavour and meaty flesh. Prolific producer. Indeterminate variety. 

Tomato 'Pink Delight' - American heirloom variety with large, deep rosy-pink fruit. Mild sweet flavour and firm flesh. Excellent for sauces, slicing and salads. Indeterminate variety. 

Tomato 'Sergeant Peppers' - Rich, full-flavoured oxheart variety with fruit that is mahogany-black on the top and deep red on the bottom. Best for paste, sauce and slicing. Indeterminate, mid-season variety. Modern heirloom. 

Tomato 'Sleeping Lady' - Medium sized, mahogany-purple midseason beefsteak. Dwarfing indeterminate variety growing to 90cm. Best for paste, sauce, and slicing.

PASTE TOMATOES

Tomato 'Golden Roma' - Roma variety with medium sized, pear-shaped fruit that matures to a beautiful golden colour. Mild, sweet flavour perfect for salads, preserving and sauces.

Tomato 'Laura' - Micro-dwarfing determinate variety growing up to 30cm in height. Excellent for pots, containers, and small gardens. Heavy cropper with high yields of red, mini-aroma type fruit. Best for paste, sauce, salads and canning.

Tomato 'Marzano Fire' - Red and gold streaked cylindrical fruit with dense, meaty flesh. Prolific producer. Recent improvement of ‘San Marzano’ variety bred by Artisan Seeds, USA. Open pollinated modern heirloom. Excellent variety for sauces, roasting and canning. Semi-determinate. 

Tomato 'Rocco's' - An Italian variety with medium sized, red, cylindrical fruit. Rich, full flavour and firm flesh, perfect for paste, sauce, salads, and canning. Indeterminate variety requiring support.

Tomato 'Roma' - A popular variety with medium sized, red, pear-shaped fruit. Full flavour and firm flesh, excellent for paste and sauce, and good for salads, slicing, drying, and canning. Determinate type growing to 100cm.

Tomato 'San Marzano' - Italian variety over 200 years old. Early cropping, cylindrical fruits with a full flavour, popular for sauces and pastes and also good for salads, drying, and canning. Indeterminate, requires staking.
