Sowing Calendars for Victoria

Victoria's climate is for the most part temperate, ranging from the cool climate regions of the Central Highlands, Gippsland and the Victorian Alps, to a more Mediterannean-style climate around Port Phillip Bay and the warmer semi-arid areas of the north-west Mallee. These charts may also be useful for other areas with a similar climate to Victoria, such as Tasmania, southern NSW, and parts of SA. This information is intended as a guide only, and some seeds will require special treatment at certain times. (For example, we start our tomato seeds in August to achieve a longer growing season, but at this time the seeds need to be germinated indoors on a heat pad until September, followed by growing in pots in the greenhouse until November.)
