Climbing bean with long, flat green pods up to 20cm long, and sprays of scarlet-red flowers on lush, green, fast-growing foliage. Easy to grow heirloom dating back to 1750s. Also known as the ‘seven-year bean’, as the vines die back in Autumn, and reemerge the next Spring. Frost tender perennial with climbing vines up to 200cm high, requiring support. Grows best in full sun and well-drained soil. Sow direct in late Spring-Summer after the last frost. Sowing depth: 25mm
