French heirloom grown by seed company Vilmorin-Andrieux in the 1850's and named after the French city Nantes. Produces crisp, sweet, bright reddish-orange carrots up to 15cm long. Adaptable to heavier soil types where other varieties struggle. Can be picked as baby carrots. Sow direct in moist, well-drained soil in spring and autumn. Keep moist until germination. Full sun to light shade. Sowing depth: 5mm.
