Live plant in 140mm pot.
Award-winning ‘Obsidian’, named after the black gemstone, is a clump-forming perennial variety that is noted for its dark plum-purple to almost black leaves that remain dark throughout the growing season. The rounded, lobed, long-petioled leaves form a compact basal mound to 25cm tall and 40cm wide. Small, creamy white flowers borne in open, airy panicles appear in late spring to early summer on slender, wiry stems rising well above the foliage mound, typically to 50-60cm tall. Best suited to dappled shade. May be divided every 3 to 5 years.
