A popular American heirloom from the 1800s. Long, white, thick stems with dark blue-green tops. Disease resistant. Height up to 60cm. Winter hardy biennial. Best raised as seedlings and transplanted out in troughs when large enough to handle. For longer white stems, hill up the soil around the stems as the plants grow. Full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Sow in Spring, Summer and Autumn. Sowing depth: 5mm
