A very old heirloom that is highly prized for its rich, bold flavour. Vigorous, early variety with large, dark-green, slightly savoyed leaves that can be eaten raw or cooked. Suitable for baby leaf production. Very cold hardy and will tolerate frosts. Can be grown from Autumn through to early Spring in cooler climates. Hardy annual. Plant in full sun to part shade in moist well-drained soil. Sow direct or in seed trays. Sowing depth: 10mm
